Nick has been working with BMS for four years, running long term fauna monitoring projects.  With a background in bush regeneration, his skills as a botanist also come in handy for projects involving broader assessment (i.e. flora fauna reports and BOS projects).  Through his masters project on predator driven ecological processes in arid Australia, he has developed the skills required to synthesise fauna and flora knowledge, and remote area work.

Nick has been involved in operations that include impact and offset projects for large mining projects as well as small residential developments. They include:

  • Targeted surveys for EPBC and BOS credit/threatened species

  • Impact assessment surveys

  • Biodiversity Development Assessment Reports (BDAR)

  • Subsidence monitoring for underground mining operations

  • Open cut rehabilitation and offset areas

  • Nest box construction and installation.

As senior ecologist for BMS, Nick has been responsible for sourcing and coordinating staff, developing WHS/OHS policies, planning and executing field trips, reporting and liaising with clients.

In 2017 Nick became member of the Ecological Consultants Association of NSW. He maintains close connections with those in the research/university fields by running fild trips to arid areas for UNSW.
